PhD Autonomy Engineer Internship (Deep Learning / Computer Vision, 2027)

Join Skydio, a leading drone technology company, as a PhD Autonomy Engineer Intern. You will work on cutting-edge computer vision algorithms that enable drones to understand their environment. This internship offers the opportunity to directly contribute to the development of next-generation autonomy algorithms and push them into real products. You will be paired with members of the core software development team and assume direct ownership of a project that advances the capabilities of the team and products.

- Architect and implement computer vision algorithms for drones, contributing to the advancement of autonomy capabilities. - Assume direct ownership of a project that meaningfully advances the capabilities of the team and products, working closely with core software development team members. - Research, prototype, and assess the feasibility of new approaches, implementing new features that enhance user experience.

- High proficiency in C++ and/or Python - Demonstrated enthusiasm for one or more of the following: computer vision, deep learning, motion planning, dynamics and controls, 3D graphics, embedded software/firmware, distributed systems, tools/infrastructure, mobile - Solid software engineering foundation and a commitment to writing clean, well-architected code - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, small team environment
