The posting
WSA’s Compliance and Legal function is a pragmatic, solution-oriented partner that works closely with the business to address challenges and support sustainable growth.
What you'll do
You will play an operational role in developing and enabling modern, scalable ways of working across WSA’s Global Legal & Compliance function. Combining hands-on operational support with a strong focus on digital solutions and AI, you will help establish structured delivery across legal, data privacy, business ethics, and sanctions-related processes.
Working closely with subject-matter experts and business stakeholders, you will seek to understand operational needs, map processes, and translate their input into clear, practical, and user-friendly materials. You will help create processes, playbooks, documentation, and working methods, including in areas where limited structure currently exists.
You will also support the identification, testing, implementation, and adoption of digital, automation, and AI-enabled solutions. This will include verifying AI-generated operational materials against approved procedures, checklists, and company standards.
This is an operational and delivery-focused role. It calls for someone who takes ownership, is comfortable working with incomplete information and changing priorities, and can bring clarity and structure to a developing function.
Key responsibilities include:
• Work with subject-matter experts to understand, map, and document operational processes in a clear and usable format.
• Identify opportunities for digital, automation, and AI-enabled improvements across Legal & Compliance and translate operational needs into practical use cases.
• Independently develop operational playbooks from initial briefs, stakeholder input, and approved source materials.
• Test digital and AI-enabled solutions, document procedures, verify outputs against approved standards, and support their practical adoption.
• Develop and roll out training materials, e-learning, guidance, and communications for new tools and processes.
• Support privacy, business ethics, sanctions screening, and legal operations in close collaboration with the Global Legal & Compliance Team and subject-matter experts.
• Apply general privacy principles when handling personal data and recognise when privacy-related matters require escalation.
• Apply a basic understanding of the purpose of sanctions screening and its role within operational processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies, supporting standardisation, and applying structured problem-solving approaches.
Your background
Experience
• A relevant degree in law, business, or a related field, with a practical understanding of legal and compliance processes (e.g., contracts, data privacy).
• 2-4 years of experience in legal operations, legal support, compliance, or similar functions, preferably in a multinational or shared services environment.
• Ability to identify potential digital or AI use cases, gather requirements, support tool configuration, coordinate implementation, test solutions, document procedures, and support adoption.
• Practical project management capability, including planning activities, coordinating stakeholders, monitoring milestones and dependencies, and identifying delivery risks.
• Hands-on experience with digital, low-code, automation, or AI-enabled tools is an advantage.
Performance and personal competencies
• Able to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, global environment, including exploring and implementing new approaches and tools.
• Shows high attention to detail, accuracy, and quality, ensuring consistent and reliable delivery.
• Demonstrates a resourceful and hands-on approach, taking ownership of tasks and driving execution effectively, including testing and implementing practical improvements.
• Able to recognise matters that require input or decisions from legal, privacy, sanctions, compliance, or technical specialists and escalate them appropriately.
• Comfortably operates in complex environments, bringing structure, transparency, and consistency across processes and deliverables.
• Builds strong relationships across teams and functions, communicating clearly and ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
• Is digitally confident and curious, able to identify, develop, and implement process improvements and support the adoption of digital and AI-enabled ways of working.
