Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Applied Science)

Join Pinterest Labs, a team focused on applied machine learning research and development. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will work on a variety of AI/ML initiatives, including core computer vision, multimodal representation learning, and generative modeling. You will specifically focus on developing Pinterest Canvas, an internal text-to-image generative model. This role offers the opportunity to work with Pinterest's rich visual-text dataset and contribute to the development of large-scale generative models.

- Prototype new model architectures for Pinterest Canvas, our internal text-to-image generative model, with a focus on diffusion text-to-image models. - Collaborate with a small team of engineers and product prototyping team to develop and ship large-scale generative models to production. - Mentor junior researchers or research interns within the Pinterest Labs organization, and contribute to the overall visual generative strategy at the company.

- Familiarity with LLM-powered productivity tools for documentation search, experiment analysis, SQL/data exploration, and engineering workflow acceleration - Experience using Cursor, Copilot, Codex, or similar AI coding assistants for development, debugging, testing, and refactoring - 5+ years of industry computer vision experience - M.S. or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related areas - Research engineers and scientists who have experience working with generative computer vision models, preferably various forms of diffusion models - Publications at top ML conferences
