Visual Designer (AI & 2D Design) – Part-Time (NXJ-216)

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Visual Designer to join a small creative team and create visual assets that bring stories to life. You’ll work on 2D environments, backgrounds, props, illustrations, and campaign imagery, combining traditional design skills with AI-powered image generation.

You’ll collaborate closely with the design lead, producer, and animation team to create high-quality visuals that match each project’s established style. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented designer who can work independently, adapt to different creative needs, and turn ideas into polished visual assets.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

- Create and extend 2D environments, backgrounds, props, illustrations, and other visual assets

- Combine original sketches, AI-generated images, and manual editing to develop high-quality visuals

- Refine compositions, lighting, colours, and visual details to achieve the desired look

- Maintain visual consistency across assets and ensure they fit the established style of each project

- Create designs that work within larger environments and can be adapted across different platforms

- Share work in progress, gather feedback at key stages, and incorporate it into the final output

- Collaborate with designers, animators, and the producer to deliver visual assets that support storytelling

WHAT WE EXPECT

MUST-HAVE

- Strong 2D design and image-making skills, with a good understanding of composition, lighting, colour, and typography

- Proven experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator

- Hands-on experience with AI image-generation tools such as Midjourney, ChatGPT, Nano Banana, Seedance, or comparable tools

- Strong prompt-writing skills and the ability to guide AI tools towards a specific visual direction

- Ability to think in 3D space and design environments, props, and visual assets that fit a coherent style

- Excellent spoken and written English

- Independence, ownership, attention to detail, and proactive communication

- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work in a fast-paced creative environment

NICE-TO-HAVE

- Experience in gaming, animation, or similar visual-production environments

- Experience with After Effects
