Senior Data Scientist (Product)

Join Coinbase as a Senior Data Scientist (Product) and conduct analysis on ambiguous business problems. You will build and measure the performance of ML models, own data and metrics, guide code reviews, and maintain statistical rigor. A BA/BS in a quantitative field with 5+ years of experience or a PhD with 3+ years of experience is required.

- Conduct analysis and deep dives on ambiguous problems for the business, resulting in insights and recommendations that guide decision making. - Build, tune, or measure the performance of online and offline ML models and AI systems used across the organization. - Act as owner for a broad scope of data and metrics, from definitions and core logging to presentation of data visualizations.

- Experience working with digital products in an iterative development cycle - Demonstration of our core cultural values: clear communication, positive energy, continuous learning, and efficient execution - Demonstrated experience in driving impactful data science projects that tackle ambiguous problem spaces - Practical expertise in applying complex modeling frameworks to practical business problems - A BA/BS in a quantitative field (ex Math, Stats, Physics, or Computer Science) with ≥5+ years of relevant experience or a PhD in a quantitative field with with ≥3+ years of relevant experience - Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready analytical outputs and models - Ability to influence external stakeholders by synthesizing data learnings into compelling stories - Professional experience using SQL and Python
