Associate Consultant — Analytics

Associate Consultant — Analytics Level: 2–4 years experience Location: Gurgaon/ Pune Blue Matter Consulting is a rapidly growing management consultancy focused on the biopharmaceutical industry. We partner with life sciences companies to commercialize therapies that extend and improve human life — translating data and insights into strategies that matter. We operate across seven global offices with an entrepreneurial culture built on curiosity, integrity, and collective excellence. At Blue Matter Insights, Associate Consultants are core contributors who own work, shape recommendations, and grow into tomorrow's leads. Our Core Values — The Foundation of How We Work At BMI values are the operating system behind every deliverable, every client conversation, and every promotion decision. Speak the TRUTH — "True to the data; true to the client" We let the data lead. Our recommendations are grounded in evidence, and when analysis contradicts expectations, we say so with clarity and respect. Solve for SO WHAT — "Be the client, own the impact" Every analysis we deliver connects to a real business need. We dig past the technical ask to understand the underlying question — and hold ourselves to delivering meaningful impact, not just outputs. Stay CURIOUS — "Dig deeper, see further to innovate" Curiosity is our superpower. We ask 'why' continuously, build T-shaped expertise across data, analytics, and business context, and embrace new tools and methods to solve old problems in better ways. Win TOGETHER — "Individually experts; collectively transformative" We encourage every voice regardless of level, hold each other accountable, and step up when it counts — across time zones and across teams. The Role As an Associate Consultant at Blue Matter, you are stepping into ownership. You will independently drive analytical workstreams on live client engagements, translate complex data into crisp strategic insights, and begin mentoring junior analysts. This role is for someone who does not just execute tasks — they interrogate them, improve them, and connect them to the bigger picture. You will be expected to embody all four BMI core values in practice: staying curious about every client's business, speaking the truth to the data, ensuring every output has a clear 'So What?', and winning alongside your team every step of the way. What You'll Do You will own analytical modules end-to-end on active client projects. Your responsibilities span the full arc from data to decision: Develop deep expertise, explore new frontiers Research therapy areas, pipeline landscapes, and competitor dynamics with the goal of knowing more than the client about their own market. Independently investigate data anomalies and unexpected findings until you understand the story behind them — never accept outputs at face value. Proactively bring emerging analytical methodologies, AI-driven tools, and best practices to the team; help elevate how BMI does its work. Deliver evidence-grounded insights with confidence Own the integrity of your analysis — ensure every recommendation is backed by data, not narrative convenience. Clearly communicate findings that challenge client assumptions when the evidence calls for it, framing difficult messages with professionalism and precision. Raise risks, blockers, and quality issues proactively; create a culture on your team where problems surface fast and get solved faster. Move from analysis to impact Translate quantitative outputs into strategic recommendations that connect directly to the client's commercial challenge — every chart, every model, every slide must earn its place. Ask 'How will this analysis change the client's decision?' before designing an approach; suggest a simpler, higher-impact methodology when it better serves the need. Design and build polished, client-ready deliverables: dashboards, forecasting models, segmentation analyses, and executive presentations using Excel, Python/R, Tableau, Qlik, or PowerPoint. Mentor junior analysts on framing insights and connecting analytical work to business outcomes. Lead from within, lift others up Actively bridge onshore and offshore teams — share context generously so that the full team can contribute, not just execute. Invite junior colleagues into internal reviews; create space for their voices and incorporate their perspectives. Step in to support teammates when capacity is tight — a deliverable belongs to the team, not just to the person whose name is on it. Build trusted client relationships as a day-to-day point of contact, representing BMI's values in every interaction. What You'll Bring Required 2–4 years of experience in analytics, data science, or management consulting (life sciences exposure is a strong plus). Advanced proficiency in at least two analytical tools: SQL, Python, R, Excel/VBA, or Alteryx. Demonstrated ability to translate data into clear, decision-ready insights — not just technically accurate outputs. Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders. Proven experience working across global, cross-functional teams. Preferred Experience in pharma/biotech commercial analytics: forecasting, patient analytics, market segmentation, or launch readiness. Proficiency in visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI. BE/BTech/BS in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. MTech/MS (Statistics or Data Science) is a plus. What Success Looks Like in This Role A strong Associate Consultant at BMI will: Own and deliver full analytical workstreams independently - on time, with a clear 'So What?' in every output. Be trusted by the engagement lead to interface directly with clients and represent BMI's analytical rigor. Proactively identify gaps in the analytical approach and propose improvements before being asked. Be the teammate others want on their project — reliable, generous with knowledge, and never leaving anyone to fail alone.
